The mission of the Winchester Fire Department is to protect life and property from the adverse effects of fires, medical emergencies, or hazardous conditions.

To accomplish this commitment, the dedicated professionals of the fire department provide the highest quality fire suppression, pre-hospital emergency medical care, rescue services, hazardous material abatement, environmental disaster response, and emergency incident management. 

In addition to emergency response, the fire department also provides the community with fire prevention programs, public fire safety education, code enforcement, building inspection, and fire cause investigation. 

These services are designed and performed to improve the quality of life for Winchester’s residents, while safeguarding the environment and economic base of the community.
