The Comptroller is appointed by the Board of Selectmen and is responsible by Town Charter and State statute for the general and budgetary accounting records of the Town, preparation of payroll and accounts payable warrants, auditing of the books of various departments, preparation of various financial reports of a statutory and/or administrative nature, methods of installation and supervision of all account records of the Town, standard practices relating to account matters, and the continuous audit of Town accounts. Additionally, the Comptroller is administratively responsible for employee group insurance and is Chairman of the Retirement Board.
