Robert Schumann Revealed in his String Quartet no. 1 presented by Dr. Vartan Aghababian

Tuesday, February 28, 2017

The music of Robert Schumann is known to most music lovers, but what of his string quartets? These works remain relatively unknown to most audiences and are generally overlooked by musicians of the academy and the stage. What musical mastery do they hold for us and what could they tell us of this beloved composer, of the man himself? About the Speaker: Come and explore the masterwork that is the String Quartet no. 1 by Robert Schumann with Boston University faculty member Dr. Vartan Aghababian and experience for yourself this hidden gem of the repertoire while gaining some of the insight and perspective it can provide us on the life, love and legacy of one of the great composers of all time. This program is supported by a grant from the John and Mary Murphy Educational Foundation.
