What’s Age Got to Do with It?

Wednesday, May 22, 2019

No matter who you are, you’re aging. But do you really know what aging means? Is getting old something to fear, or does it offer some surprising benefits not possible to enjoy at younger ages? Join renown gerontologist, Jeanette Leardi for this engaging presentation to discover what aging is – and what it isn’t. Drawing from scientific research and experience, Ms. Leardi addresses negative stereotypes and offers practical ways to disrupt ageism to help all generations to fully contribute to society. Jeanette Leardi, a social gerontologist, writer, editor and community educator, has a master’s degree in English from Rutgers University and graduate certificate in Gerontology from University of North Carolina, Charlotte. Sponsored by a generous grant from The John and Mary Murphy Educational Foundation.
