The Glass is Half Full. A caregiver toolkit for providing purposeful engagement for persons living at home with memory challenges. Excerpts from the field tested, evidence-based caregiver training that will be presented by Eric Kessler, Executive Director of Community Partnerships with Hearthstone Alzheimer’s Care. This educational speaker will be for caregivers only. *An activity is available during this time for the loved ones facing memory challenges to enjoy. The Memory Café is a place for individuals and their families or caregivers to come and participate in an organized activity, listen to a guest speaker, hear a variety of music types or gather support from others in similar situations. Light Refreshments will be provided.

Lorin returns to teach this stimulating series that examines the past thirty years as China has gradually emerged from the suffocating impact of the Maoist/Leninist political economy, moving toward a dynamic state capitalist economy. This program will also study an array of social and cultural issues.

The Family-To-Family Education Program is a 12-week course for family caregivers and friends of individuals affected mental health challenges. All instruction and course materials are free for class participants.
A different topic is covered every week:
• Information about Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
• Coping skills, handling crisis and relapse
• Listening and communication techniques
• Problem solving and limit setting...and much, much more!

Family to Family is a 12-week course for family caregivers and friends of individuals affected by mental illness. Offered free of charge by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the course is taught by trained family member volunteers. The course provides information on the major brain disorders (mental illnesses) and teaches coping skills and communication techniques. Participants in Family to Family gain vital insight into their loved ones' situations and have described the course experience as life-changing.
