The Winchester Cooperative Theatre for Children in association with Tams Witmark Music Library announces its spring production of L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz! Come take a journey over the rainbow with this family favorite classic! When a cyclone hits her farm, Dorothy Gale gets her wish of escaping her dull Kansas farm-life, as she, her dog Toto and her house land in a colorful, magical land called Oz. The Land of Oz is filled with Munchkins, good and bad witches, and even flying monkeys!
Although this wondrous new place is bright and exciting, it is also the home of the Wicked Witch of the West who is determined to seek vengeance and claim the powerful ruby slippers, which are now on Dorothy’s feet. Seeking a way back home to Kansas, Dorothy sets off to see the Wizard of Oz and is joined by her new friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and The Cowardly Lion. “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” to McCall Middle School to see an unforgettable performance of, The Wizard of Oz!

Celebrities from the local and disability communities partner with members of the MIT Ballroom Dance Team to support Winchester-based Autism Housing Pathways. The MIT dancers will also perform showcase numbers, and run an (optional) group dance lesson. There will be silent and live auctions, heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
