  1. ArtMatters – Portraits in Art

    May 14, 2019, 10:30 AM

A portrait tells us much more than just what someone looks like. A portrait documents history, including an era of time, a culture, an event, or the experience of a person. It can tell stories, serve as a commentary of social values, or reflect political institutions. Join Jane Blair as she explores the many possibilities of the portrait in art. Jane has taught Art History, Art Appreciation, Computer Art, Photography and Graphic Illustration. Earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana, Jane is the owner of ArtMatters, an art awareness program serving children through senior citizens. This program, presented by the Education Committee of the Winchester Seniors Association, is supported by a grant from the John and Mary Murphy Educational Foundation.
