Using 5 Live Birds of Prey and a variety of cultural artifacts and art, this program touches on different cultures and explains how people around the world and across time have viewed these magnificent hunters of the air. Learn why these birds were painted on and incised on the walls of prehistoric caves in Europe, why they were honored by the ancient Egyptians as a symbol of the Pharoah. The Danforth Art Museum Tour at Framingham State University with Rachel Passannante

Join Rachel Passannante the Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller Collection Manager. The collection consists of ephemera, process pieces, studies and other subjects of art that expand upon some of the better-known aspects of Fuller’s Oeuvre. The entire collection is on view in this gallery and a re-creation of Fuller’s first studio in Framingham, which was the attic of her home. (c.1920) The collection spans seventy years of creative output including Fuller’s early works in Paris. The Danforth Art Museum is committed to the stewardship, exploration, and the exhibition of this important collection. Rachel Passannante has a Masters in Material Culture Studies from the University of Sheffield in England and a B.A. in Archaeology with minors in Museum Studies and Geology from SUNY Postsdam in upstate New York.
